17 Dogs Removed From Kingman Home

KINGMAN–A reported animal complaint led to the removal of 17 dogs living on a property in the 3900 block of Hearne Avenue in Kingman.

Mohave County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said Animal Control Officers received a phone call from a concerned citizen regarding a number of dogs reportedly getting our near a neighborhood school bus stop.

The officers made contact with the homeowner, who advised his wife was living at the residence while he was staying at another home. The homeowner told the officers his wife was ill and he wasn’t aware of how many dogs were on the property, said Mortensen.

The homeowner requested the assistance of the Animal Control Officers to trap the dogs so they could be taken to a local shelter, Mortensen added.

A total of 17 dogs of various breeds and ages were safely removed from the property and taken to a local shelter.
