175 New COVID-19 Cases Since Wednesday at Noon

Plus 8 New Deaths

24,830 Total Positives / 729 Total Deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (August 20, 2021) — The Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff has been notified of 175 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported since Wednesday at noon. There are 8 new deaths, ALL previously reported positive cases.

Four of the eight deaths reported are in the Bullhead City service area. One is 40-49; one is 50-59; one is 60-69; one is 70-79.

Three of the deaths are in the Kingman service area. One is 30-39; one is 60-69; one is 80-89.

The eighth and final death is from the Laje avasu City service area, a 60-69 person.

Of the 175 new confirmed cases, there are 70 new confirmed cases in the Bullhead City service area There are 80 new confirmed cases in the Kingman service area. There are 23 new confirmed cases in the Lake Havasu City service area. There are 2 new confirmed case in the North County service area. There are 0 new cases in an Undetermined or unknown area of the county.

ALL 175 new cases remain under investigation.

Of the 70 new confirmed cases in the Bullhead City area, nine are 0-10; ten are 11-19; twelve are 20-29; eight are 30-39; four are 40-49; ten are 50-59; eight are 60-69; four are 70-79; five are 80-89.

Of the 80 new confirmed cases in the Kingman area, ten are 0-10; ten are 11-19; six are 20-29; ten are 30-39; seven are 40-49; ten are 50-59; sixteen are 60-69; ten are 70-79.

Of the 23 new confirmed cases in the Lake Havasu City area, one is 0-10; six are 11-19; two are 20-29; five are 30-39; two are 50-59; three are 60-69; one is 70-79; three are 80-89.

Of the two new confirmed cases in the North County area, one is 20-29 and one is 50-59.

Important Updated Local Information on

Reducing COVID-19 Hospitalizations

Early intervention with monoclonal antibody infusion therapy can shorten the duration of COVID-19 symptoms and reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization. This is becoming increasingly important as a surge of patients with the Delta variant continues to strain hospital resources.

The therapy is available to the following people:

Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are within ten days of symptom onset
• Unvaccinated individuals who have had close contact with a COVID-positive person
• Vaccinated individuals who are immunocompromised and have had close contact with a COVID-positive person

COVID-19 Cases are on the rise in many parts of the U.S., including Mohave County. Well over 90% of all those who are hospitalized, were not vaccinated. The Mohave County Health Department continues to urge all residents to get fully vaccinated. At this point, Mohave County has under 40% vaccinated. Pfizer Vaccine Now Available to

12-17 Year Olds in Mohave County

The Mohave County Department of Public Health has now allocated Pfizer vaccine to the following providers this week. Two doses are required and this vaccine can be administered to the 12-17 age group. In Mohave County, that is approximately 10,000 individuals.)
