176 New COVID-19 Cases Since Friday at Noon

Plus 2 New Deaths

24,830 Total Positives / 729 Total Deaths

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (August 23, 2021) — The Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff has been notified of 176 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported since Friday at noon. There are also 2 new deaths from previously reported positive cases.

Both deaths are 70-79 individuals. One is from the Bullhead City service area and one is from the Kingman service area.

Of the 176 new confirmed cases, there are 88 new confirmed cases in the Bullhead City service area There are 49 new confirmed cases in the Kingman service area. There are 36 new confirmed cases in the Lake Havasu City service area. There are 0 new confirmed case in the North County service area. There are 3 new cases in an Undetermined or unknown area of the county.

ALL 176 new cases remain under investigation.

Of the 88 new confirmed cases in the Bullhead City area, eight are 0-10; fourteen are 11-19; thirteen are 20-29; nine are 30-39; ten are 40-49; fourteen are 50-59; fourteen are 60-69; five are 70-79; one is 80-89.

Of the 49 new cases in the Kingman area, four are 0-10; ten are 11-19; eight are 20-29; nine are 30-39; six are 40-49; seven are 50-59; four are 60-69; one is 70-79.

Of the 36 new confirmed cases in the Lake Havasu City area, one is 0-10; ten are 11-19; four are 20-29; four are 30-39; five are 40-49; seven are 50-59; three are 60-69; two are 70-79.

Of the 3 new confirmed cases in an Undetermined or Unknown area of the county, one is 0-10; one is 20-29; one is 90+.

Important Updated Local Information on

Reducing COVID-19 Hospitalizations

Early intervention with monoclonal antibody infusion therapy can shorten the duration of COVID-19 symptoms and reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization. This is becoming increasingly important as a surge of patients with the Delta variant continues to strain hospital resources.

The therapy is available to the following people:

Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are within ten days of symptom onset
• Unvaccinated individuals who have had close contact with a COVID-positive person
• Vaccinated individuals who are immunocompromised and have had close contact with a COVID-positive person

COVID-19 Cases are on the rise in many parts of the U.S., including Mohave County. Well over 90% of all those who are hospitalized, were not vaccinated. The Mohave County Health Department continues to urge all residents to get fully vaccinated. At this point, Mohave County has under 40% vaccinated. Pfizer Vaccine Now Available to

12-17 Year Olds in Mohave County

The Mohave County Department of Public Health has now allocated Pfizer vaccine to the following providers this week. Two doses are required and this vaccine can be administered to the 12-17 age group. In Mohave County, that is approximately 10,000 individuals.)
