43 pounds of meth taken off the streets

On Thursday (11/21) at approximately 8PM, Mohave County Sheriff’s Detectives assigned to the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team, a HIDTA initiative and ACJC supported a traffic stop on Interstate 40 near Kingman, Arizona, resulted in a Las Vegas man being arrested for possession of 43 pounds of methamphetamine.

42-year-old Israel Tellez-Nava was On Thursday (11/21) at approximately 8PM, Mohave County Sheriff’s Detectives assigned to the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team, a HIDTA initiative and ACJC supported task force, arrested Israel Tellez-Nava, 35 of Las Vegas, NV, for Transportation of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, Possession of Dangerous Drugs, and Possession of Dangerous Drugs for Sale, all felonies. A traffic stop was conducted on Interstate 40 at approximately MP 59 by Detectives. Tellez-Nava was found to be the operator of the vehicle and sole occupant. Detectives observed bundles of methamphetamine in plain view during the traffic stop and arrested Tellez-Nava on scene. A further search of the vehicle resulted in three large box’s containing a total of 43 pounds of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of over 1.9 million dollars. Israel Tellez-Nava was arrested and booked into Mohave County Adult Detention Facility without incident.
