45 New COVID-19 Cases Reported

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (May 9, 2021) — The Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff has been notified of 45 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported since Wednesday at noon. There are also 4 new deaths from previously reported positive cases.

Three of the four new deaths are in the Bullhead City service area. One is 70-79; one is 80-89; one is 90+.

The 4^th new death reported is a 60-69 person in the Kingman service area.

Of the 45 new confirmed cases, there are 13 new cases in the Bullhead City service area. There are 19 new cases in the Kingman service area. There are 12 new cases in the Lake Havasu City service area. There is 1 new case in the North County service area. There are 0 new cases in an Undetermined area of the county.

ALL 45 new confirmed cases remain under investigation.

Of the 13 new confirmed cases in the Bullhead City area, two are 11-19; three are 20-29; one is 30-39; one is 40-49; two are 50-59; three are 60-69; one is 80-89.

Of the 19 new confirmed cases in the Kingman area, one is 0-10; two are 11-19; two are 30-39; five are 40-49; seven are 50-59; two are 60-69.

Of the 12 new confirmed cases in the Lake Havasu City area, two are 11-19; one is 30-39; one is 40-49; two are 50-59; three are 60-69; three are 70-79.

The final case is the single one in North County, a 60-69 person.

 Melissa Palmer, Mohave County Health Director says: “We are awaiting EUA authorization for Pfizer COVID vaccine use in the 12-15 year old age range group.  We want to be prepared for any changes in populations eligible for COVID vaccine in Mohave County.”  Also, Starting this week, providers are ordering Moderna vaccine through the ADHS ASIIS portal.

Mohave County Health Director Denise Burley says “there is currently an abundant supply of the Moderna vaccine available throughout the county to handle any vaccination needs.” She adds, “the county’s providers can definitely meet any demand.”

 All those who want a vaccination and have been putting it off for whatever reason, should know that now is the absolute perfect time to make that appointment with little or no waiting for the first dose of Moderna.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Mohave County Department of Public Health staff review case information for accuracy and completeness.  There are a number of reasons for the adjustments, including the removal of cases that did not have a permanent address in Mohave County, reconciliation of cases reported twice or not originally reported, and removal of probable cases.
