49 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Today in Mohave County

49 New COVID-19 Cases Reported Today

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (February 2, 2021) — The Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff has been notified of 49 new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported today. There are also 9 new deaths reported.

Of the 9 new deaths reported, three of them are from the Bullhead City service area.  One of those is also one of our new confirmed positive cases, who was not previously reported. That is a 50-59 person.  The other two Bullhead City area deaths are a 50-59 and a 70-79 person.

There are three deaths in the Kingman service area. One is 60-69 and two are 80-89.

There are three deaths in the Lake Havasu City service area. One is 70-79 and two are 80-89.

Of the 49 new confirmed cases, there are 24 new cases in the Bullhead City service area. There are 15 new cases in the Lake Havasu City service area. There are 10 new cases in the Kingman service area. There are 0 new cases in the North County service area. There are 0 new cases in an Undetermined area of the county.

Of the 24 new cases in the Bullhead City area, one is among the 9 deaths mentioned above. The remaining 23 confirmed cases are ALL under investigation.  Two are 0-10; one is 11-19; three are 20-29; four are 30-39; three are 40-49; four are 50-59; three are 60-69; one is 70-79; two are 80-89.

Of the 10 new confirmed cases in the Kingman area, ALL are still under investigation.  Two are 30-39; three are 50-59; five are 60-69.

Of the 15 new confirmed cases in the Lake Havasu City area, ALL remain under investigation.  One is 11-19; four are 30-39; two are 40-49; three are 50-59; four are 60-69; one is 80-89.

 *Here Is the Latest Vaccination Update Info:

  1. Transfer of 300 doses to Embry BHC.
  2. Public Health transferred 500 doses from MCDPH to Embry-KGM – requested increase in the hours of operation and number of appointments per day. Embry on board to increase next week.
  3. Safeway/Albertsons has developed a plan to increase their ability to distribute vaccine– This will start next week with a drive-through vaccination site accommodating approx. 320 people in addition to the 40 per day, per location, Anticipate use of approximately 1,000 doses among all sites listed next week.
  4. Public Health working with providers on reporting issues to ensure doses administered are reported to state.
  5. People who are not currently eligible for the vaccine are scheduling through Embry link and are taking space from those who are currently eligible. (For example, if an individual who, under our current 1B sub-category rules is under 75 Years and Older and makes an appointment, that person will not be given a vaccination upon showing up at vaccination site.)
  6. The difference between ADHS web page report and MCDPH numbers is due to “delays in reporting” (related to EMR sync or staffing issues)
  7. Future allocations decisions will be based on 80+% of doses (past – 100%, future – 80+%) utilized. Limited inventory allowed.

 

*IMPORTANT NOTE: Embry is giving Vaccinations in Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City, and Kingman at each of the Mohave Community College campuses for the 75 Years & Older sub-category in Phase 1B. They join other providers in those three cities. Individuals Must Have an Appointment to get a shot.

 Extra help is in place with our County COVID Call Center for the 75 Years & Older sub-category who do not have access to the Internet and/or a computer. Those individuals can now register for the Embry sites and get the appointment set up with Embry ONLY by calling this special number   928-753-8665.  The call center will also answer any other questions on COVID-19.  There are 6 people answering the calls, so please be patient. IMPORTANT NOTE: The Mohave County Department of Public Health staff review case information for accuracy and completeness.  There are a number of reasons for the adjustments, including the removal of cases that did not have a permanent address in Mohave County, reconciliation of cases reported twice or not originally reported, and removal of probable cases.
