A centennial to celebrate is putting the spotlight on Kingman, Arizona. After a stop in Oatman and shooting video on Route 66 through Sitgreaves Pass, Gaylin Anderson and Lance Coury of the popular 2LaneLife channel were recently in town capturing footage for an upcoming episode that will be a part of their Route 66 centennial series. They met and talked with author, humorist, and historian Jim Hinckley, creator of the Jim Hinckley’s America network, had lunch at Calico’s restaurant, and interviewed Tim Webb during a tour of Tin Can Alley on 66.

The Route 66 centennial is generating international media attention and as Kingman is linked to that highway through a famous song it is fast becoming a destination for journalists. Film crews and journalists from the AP, AAA, and PBS as well as other media companies have been sharing the charm of Kingman with an international audience in recent months.

You don’t have to be a journalist to experience what makes Kingman special. Incentive for a road trip or memory making weekend special is found in this list of upcoming events provided by Joyce Wiley from the Kingman Office of Tourism and the Kingman Tours website with expansive AI powered Yodel events calendar
