Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested Darrin Scott Hutchinson, 22 of Kingman, for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon per Domestic Violence and Disorderly Conduct with a Weapon, both felonies. On Monday (3/13) at approximately 4:46 pm, dispatch received multiple calls reporting gunshots in the 2800 block of McVicar Ave. in Kingman. One of the reporting parties advised that her son, Darrin Hutchinson, had shot her husband. Hutchinson was later detained in a wash close to the residence.

A verbal altercation began when Hutchinson requested to borrow a handgun. Hutchinson was denied use of the handgun, and the altercation then became physical. During the struggle, Hutchinson obtained control of the firearm, and shot his father in the abdomen. After his father was shot, Darrin allegedly fired multiple rounds into the air.

Darrin Scott Hutchinson was interviewed about his involvement in the incident and at the conclusion of the interview, was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. The victim was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center, then further transported to a Las Vegas hospital where he is receiving treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. This investigation is ongoing.
