Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Jimmy Lloyd King Jr., 50 of Topock, for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon per Domestic Violence and Disorderly Conduct with a Weapon, both felonies. On Tuesday (3/17) at approximately 12:30 PM, deputies responded to a residence in the 4500 block of E. Linden Dr. in Topock in reference to a disturbance. Deputies were approached a few houses away from the residence and made contact with the victim who advised that King attempted to shoot him with a shotgun. The victim further advised that he believed King had reentered the home, where there were several more weapons and rounds of ammunition located inside. Deputies positioned themselves outside the fence line of the property as King exited the home and made several “suicide-by-cop” comments when given verbal commands to get on the ground. King continued to pace in front of the residence and ignore deputy’s commands. King made several comments about re-entering the residence, and with deputies unaware of where the weapons were at, the decision was made to utilize less-than-lethal rounds to subdue the subject. King turned toward the residence and a 40mm Impact Round was deployed towards King, striking him above his right buttock, and a Noise Flash Diversionary Device was deployed to prevent his retreat into the residence. Deputies then entered the fence line and placed King on the ground in an attempt to place him in restraints. King continued to be non-compliant, by tucking his hands under his chest. Deputies were eventually able to gain control of King’s arms and placed him in restraints. Deputies conducted a search of the property and observed damage to the interior and exterior of the residence near the front door consistent with a shotgun round being fired. The 12 gauge shotgun was located inside King’s pickup truck, and was found to have been loaded with two additional buckshot shotgun shells. King refused to comment when questioned by deputies. Jimmy Lloyd King Jr. was arrested and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility without further incident.
