“All Together Now” Havasu’s 2023 Summer Reading Program

LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ — May 16, 2023) – Readers of all ages are invited to participate in Mohave County Library’s Summer Reading Program, “All Together Now”. Themes for activities may include Friends Forever, Community Connections, Science that Serves, Expand your World, Working and Playing Together, and Kindness for Everyone.   

The kick-off event will be held on Friday, June 2 at 2:00 pm in the county’s Lake Havasu City library’s community rooms A/B. Itr features Lovely Buttons, a family and children’s entertainer, professional clown, giggle therapist and smile manipulator from Tempe, Arizona. 

The 2023 Summer Reading Program is open to all ages. Activities for babies, toddlers, children, teens, and adults are planned and may include group games, crafts, art projects, story times, science and engineering experiments, and much more. 

The weekly program days/times, and ages are as follows: 

Tuesdays at 9:30am – Adult programs for ages 18 and up. Activities include cork flag, heart suncatcher, salt scrub, pressed flower lantern, and a jute coaster. Registration is required. 

Tuesday, June 6 at 2:00pm – Naked Eye Astronomy 

Wednesdays at 9:30am – Baby Jamboree for ages 0-2. Promotes early literacy through rhyming, repetition, movement, songs and play for little ones. 

Thursdays at 10:30am – Toddler Story time for ages 2-5. Practices early literacy through storytelling, music, and movement. 

Thursdays at 1:00pm – Teen Party for ages 12-18. Activities include journaling, gaming, trivia, painting, and more. 

Fridays at 10:00am – Elementary Programs for ages 5-11. Activities include art, Turing Tumble, Rube Goldberg machines, and more. 

The Summer Reading final will be Saturday, July, 15 at 9:00am. Activities will include spatial poetry, games, a giant crossword puzzle, and Summer Reading raffle drawings.
