Fort Mohave, AZ (December 14, 2019) – Valley View Medical Center was a proud partner of our area Shop with A First Responder event. Even Santa was able to join in the festivities thanks to Classic Air Medical for making a special delivery.
Santa Claus arrived in a Classic Air Medical helicopter to get his photo taken with each child as Valley View hosted the group for pastries, hot chocolate and coffee.

Santa and gifts are ready to talk with the kids.
More than 85 children were connected with Mohave Valley and Fort Mojave Mesa firefighters and sheriff’s deputies from Mohave and San Bernardino Counties and other first responders.

More than 85 children, their families and first responders excitedly wait their chance to talk with Santa.
From Valley View, the kids were brought to Walmart in fire trucks and patrol vehicles with lights flashing and sirens sounding to begin shopping, knowing they each had $100.00 to spend.
Beside Walmart and the sheriff’s and fire departments, Valley View Medical Center, Classic Air, Mohave Sunrise Rotary, Air Methods, Bullhead City Fire, Bullhead City Shop With a Cop, BHHS Legacy Foundation, Fort Mojave Mesa Firefighter Union and Firefighter Toy Drive all helped bring this event to fruition.
At Walmart, the children not only got to shop with first responders, but also were able to make personal connections with them. The importance of the event is to help children form a trusted bond with first responders, law enforcement and medical personnel so they are more comfortable if the need help arose.
Ten of the children are from Needles, and the rest are from Fort Mohave, Mohave Valley and Golden Shores.
Events such as Shop With A First Responder help bring the community together during the holiday season.

Earlier this week, Laughlin High School students gathered and donated new toys to help with the Shop With A First Responder event.
