Arrest Made in Homicide Investigation

On May 17, 2023, at approximately 9:15 a.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a residence in the 2500 block of McCulloch Boulevard North after reports of a shooting had occurred. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male inside the residence, identified as 19-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Arnell L. Bell. The victim had injuries consistent with being shot, and life-saving measures were attempted, however, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Detectives from the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit responded to the scene to investigate this incident. As a result of their investigation, 22-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Angel F. Caldera was arrested for Second Degree Murder. During his initial appearance, he was held on a $1,000,000.00 bond and transferred to the custody of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.  

The decedent’s family has been notified.
