Attempted Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Misconduct Involving Weapons and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm in a Municipality

On Wednesday, May 1st at about 10:30am, the Kingman Police Department arrested Daniel William Kemple, 75 of Kingman on the felony charges of Attempted Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Misconduct Involving Weapons and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm in a Municipality.  Officer responded to a City of Kingman park in the 2200blk of East Andy Devine Avenue for a report of a physical fight occurring and a gunshot being fired.  Upon arrival officers found the victim, an 82-year-old male with a single gunshot wound to his abdomen.  Investigators learned that Kemple and the victim had been in a physical altercation over two dogs fighting.  Kemple and the victim began pushing each other with Kemple falling backwards.  As the victim was walking away Kemple fired a single round striking the victim.  The victim, was treated on scene by personnel from the Kingman Fire Department and transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.  Kemple was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility on the listed charges.
