BULLHEAD CITY—An unidentified man killed himself early Wednesday morning following a standoff with police.

Bullhead City Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said officers were called to the house in the 700 block of Stahlman Drive around 1:30 a.m. for a domestic violence report.

“When officers responded, a man from inside the residence fired shots toward police,” said Fromelt.

No officers were injured, she said.

“The man then barricaded himself inside the residence. The SWAT team responded and made entry into the home and found the man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head,” Fromelt said.

No one else was reportedly inside the home.

Fromelt added police had to deploy less-than-lethal force against a reported aggressive dog that was on scene at the time of the incident.

“The dog is currently being treated by a veterinarian in Kingman and I s expected to be okay. Other dogs were removed from the home and are at the Animal Shelter waiting for the owner to pick them up,” she said.
