Students who have communicable diseases other than COVID-19 may return to school 24 hours after their last fever without medication. BCSD’s policies and protocols for other communicable diseases have been standard among school districts and health professionals for many years. Under current BCSD protocols for COVID-19, individuals who test positive must isolate at least ten days and may return when released by the Mohave County Department of Public Health. Students must also be kept home if an adult in the household has tested positive for COVID-19 and is isolated.

BCSD’s COVID-19 protocols are based upon guidance from the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Mohave County Department of Public Health. The U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended some changes which have been adopted by the State of Arizona. BCSD’s Governing Board has to formally approve any changes to existing protocols.

The COVID-19 protocols and guidelines currently in place are listed on the BCSD website, www.crsk12.org, under the “COVID 19 Updates” tab at the top of the home page. Under Arizona law, parents and guardians must report to schools the reasons for their
children’s absences. Reported illnesses are excused absences.
