Gear up for the 26th Annual Carrie Edgmon Bicycle Safety Rodeo! The event will be held on Saturday, March 19th in the north Wal-Mart parking lot from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. The event is sponsored by the Bullhead City Police and Fire Departments, Wal-Mart and Western Arizona Regional Medical Center (WARMC). A safety course will be set up for children to ride and put their safety skills and knowledge to the test. Children of all ages will learn the rules of the road from Bullhead City Police Officers who will be on hand to help kids go through the safety course.

Children are encouraged to bring their own bikes to receive free bicycle registration. If a registered bike is ever lost or stolen, the police department will know who to return it to if it’s recovered.  Loaner bikes will be available. Participants may also receive a free bicycle inspection and tune-up, performed by the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Bicycle parts for the tune ups are donated by the Bullhead City Morning Kiwanis Club.

All children will receive a free helmet, thanks to WARMC! Bullhead City firefighters and other volunteers will make sure the helmets are fitted securely and buckled correctly. Plus, participants can enter a prize drawing to win a new bike!

The Bike Safety Rodeo is open to everyone at no cost. Call (928) 763-9200 ext. 8204 for more information.
