Board of Supervisors to Appoint

Cerbat Justice of Peace Replacement

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (April 1, 2021) – The Board of Supervisors is expected on Monday to appoint a replacement to serve as the Cerbat Justice of the Peace. The current Cerbat JP John Taylor, a Republican has resigned.

There are four finalists for the position: Jacobo Chavez, Rob McEuen, Virlynn Tinnell, and David Wayt.  Discussion is expected to take place when the item is brought forth at the Board’s April 5th meeting. The appointment would take effect immediately and the individual chosen will serve until the general election occurs in 2022.

The four finalists must meet the following eligibility requirements: Pass a background check in accordance with standard Mohave County hiring procedures; provide proof of residency within the Cerbat Justice Court Precinct prior to April 5, 2021; provide proof of voter registration in the Cerbat Justice Court Precinct as a Republican by April 5, 2021.

The Board of Supervisors meeting begins at 9:30am on Monday in the County auditorium at 700 W. Beale St. in Kingman.
