On Monday, July 13, 2020, at approximately 12:17 PM, several units were dispatched to the 1700 block of Toro Rd. for the report of a brush fire with exposures. Ladder 721’s crew arrived on the scene, reporting a brush fire burning on a vacant lot that was extending to multiple exposures on Williams Dr.
Battalion Chief Marvin McCabe arrived assuming command directing the incoming units on Williams Dr. to the three threatened structures, which included two wooden fences and a carport area. Medics treated one female juvenile on the scene for minor burns to her feet.
Fire investigators responded to the scene, along with the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
The Bullhead City Fire Department would like to remind residents to be fire safe as we move through the hot and dry summer weather. Our crews have responded to a total of 95 calls for service regarding brush fires from January 1, 2020, through July 13, 2020.
