In compliance with “Megan’s Law,” law enforcement authorities are required to make information available to the public about these offenders. The department emphasizes that sex offender notifications are not intended to increase fear. Instead, an informed community is a safer community, and the police department will not tolerate the use of this information to threaten, intimidate, or harass offenders.

Residents may enter any address of interest to view an interactive map and listing of offenders within a selected radius. Additionally, they may confidentially register an address to be continuously monitored, receiving email alerts if an offender or predator moves near the specified location. Commonly monitored addresses include homes, work locations, parks, playgrounds, bus stops, and other areas of public interest.

Residents also have the option to register for alerts regarding a specific offender if they wish to track changes in that offender’s location. There is no limit to the number of addresses that can be registered, and the service is provided at no cost.
