BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., September 29, 2026 – Following yesterday’s significant storm and heavy rainfall, City of Bullhead City crews are continuing cleanup and recovery efforts throughout the community today. The storm brought periods of heavy downpour and substantial runoff, leaving rocks, dirt, mud, sand, branches, and other debris scattered across many areas. City crews began cleanup efforts last night and will continue working throughout the day to address storm-related impacts.
City crews are working throughout the community to assess conditions, remove debris, and sweep roadways as they progress through the affected areas. The City asks residents to be patient as crews work through the cleanup process. Given the extent of the storm and the number of areas affected, it will take time to assess and address conditions throughout the community. Residents who see an area that requires special attention or additional cleanup are encouraged to report it directly to the City through Bullhead City Direct or online at BullheadCityAZ.gov/BullheadCityDirect. Residents can also share information publicly, including via social media, to help City crews identify areas that may not be immediately apparent and prioritize cleanup operations.
Residents are reminded that cleanup operations may result in temporary traffic impacts as crews work along roadways. Please slow down, exercise caution around City crews and equipment, and provide workers with ample room to operate safely.
Several City recreation facilities and public areas will remain closed today due to the storm and resulting conditions:
• All City athletic fields will remain closed for the remainder of today, September 29. Excess water and saturated playing surfaces can create safety hazards, including slips, falls, and other injuries, as well as cause significant damage to turf and playing surfaces.
• South Beach at Community Park will remain closed for the remainder of the day due to current conditions.
• Rotary Park will remain closed for the remainder of today while City staff continue assessing conditions. Pedestrians and bicyclists may access areas where conditions allow, but vehicles will not be permitted.
• Bullhead City Municipal Community Pool at Ken Fovargue will be closed for the next two days as staff address conditions resulting from the storm, with plans to reopen following the closure if conditions allow.
The City will provide additional information regarding the reopening of facilities and parks as conditions are further assessed. The City appreciates the community’s support, patience, and cooperation as crews continue to work diligently through the cleanup and recovery effort.
