FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ – September 28, 2026 – Bullhead City is experiencing significant rainfall this afternoon, and City crews are actively working throughout the community to address flooding, debris, roadway impacts, and other storm-related issues as they arise. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for west-central Mohave County, including Bullhead City, through 7:15 p.m. PDT today. A Flood Watch remains in effect through 5:00 a.m. Tuesday.

City Public Works crews are working as conditions allow to address storm-related impacts. Heavy rainfall can leave rocks, sand, mud, and other debris on roadways, and crews will be cleaning affected streets and working to keep up with conditions following the rainfall. Residents are encouraged to use caution when traveling and to recognize that roadway conditions can change quickly during and after heavy rainfall. If a traffic signal is not functioning normally or an intersection is affected by the storm, motorists should treat the intersection as a four-way stop by coming to a complete stop and proceeding only when it is safe to do so.

Residents who see an area requiring attention can report it directly to the City through the Bullhead City Direct app or online at BullheadCityAZ.gov/BullheadCityDirect. City staff will continue monitoring local reports for information about flooding, debris, roadway impacts, and other areas that may require attention.

As a precaution due to current weather and flooding conditions, all City parks will remain closed for the remainder of the day. The public is asked to stay out of closed park areas, washes, and other low-lying areas until conditions have improved and areas are deemed safe.

The City reminds residents and visitors to take the following precautions during the storm:
• Never drive through flooded roadways or running water. Turn around and find an alternate route. Water may be deeper or moving faster than it appears, and the roadway beneath it may be damaged.
• Do not drive around barricades or enter areas that have been closed because of flooding or unsafe conditions.
• Treat intersections with non-functioning or flashing red traffic signals as four-way stops. Slow down, come to a complete stop, and proceed only when it is safe.
• Allow extra travel time, reduce your speed, and leave additional distance between vehicles.
• Stay clear of downed power lines, washes, drainage channels, and other areas where water may be moving quickly.

If travel is not necessary, residents are urged to stay home and avoid unnecessary trips until conditions improve. For emergencies or situations posing an immediate threat to life or safety, call 911.

Conditions can change quickly. Residents and visitors are encouraged to continue monitoring National Weather Service alerts and official City communications for additional information and updates as conditions develop.
