BULLHEAD CITY, Arizona – October 2, 2026
Bullhead City staff, City contractors, and utility companies will work on several maintenance and capital improvement projects during the week of October 5. The following initiatives are scheduled:
• Bullhead City Street Maintenance crews will temporarily pause the regularly scheduled annual slurry seal program to focus on storm cleanup efforts throughout the community. Crews continue to assess storm-related impacts and are working on cleanup activities, including street sweeping, backfilling curbs, and addressing washout areas. Slurry seal operations are expected to resume the following week. The weekly schedules can be found at https://www.bullheadcityaz.gov/living-in-bullhead-city/street-maintenance/street-maintenance-program-schedule/.
• Chaparral Golf Course & Restaurant will be closed for reseeding from October 1 through November 10 and is scheduled to reopen November 11. The restaurant and lounge will remain open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Veterans will be able to golf for free on Veterans Day, November 11, with verification of veteran status required. Veterans are encouraged to call ahead to reserve a tee time.
• The ADA ramp at the Rotary Park fishing pier will remain closed while crews make accessibility upgrades. The work began September 8 and is expected to last approximately one month. A grand opening celebration for the new ADA ramp is anticipated in early 2027.
• Construction crews will continue laying a new waterline along North Oatman Road as part of Phase III of the South Supply Line project. The new waterline will connect the well on Riverview Drive to a future water tower on Black Mountain Road. Related to this work, Arcadia Boulevard is scheduled to close beginning Monday, October 5, at 6 a.m. and is expected to reopen near the end of November.
• The intersection of Rio Vista Drive and Dorado Drive will be closed on October 7 and 8 while crews repair asphalt damaged by a recent water break.
• Southwest Gas, in partnership with Northern Pipeline Construction Co., will continue installing a new gas main along Bullhead Parkway between Laughlin Ranch Boulevard and Landon Drive. Work will take place daily from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will require intermittent lane restrictions at the intersection of Bullhead Parkway and Laughlin Ranch Boulevard, as well as southbound right-lane closures along Bullhead Parkway. No full road closures are anticipated, and access through the area will be maintained.
• T.R. Orr, Inc., on behalf of the City, will continue building new restrooms at Community Park, just south of the Bullhead Belle.
• Contractors working for Bullhead City Utilities will complete various asphalt and concrete repairs around the City in areas where recent water line repairs were made.
• Kay Constructors LLC, under contract with Bullhead City Utilities, is building a new aeration basin at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant. This project is part of the overall expansion effort to increase the volume of water the City can reclaim.
• Bullhead City Utilities will continue rehabilitating an existing clarifier at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant, located at 901 Richardo Ave. Rehabilitation work includes draining, cleaning, and measuring the clarifier before installing new mechanical equipment and protective material to extend the lifespan of the concrete.
• Kay Constructors is also constructing a new clarifier at the Section 10 wastewater treatment plant.
Residents are encouraged to download the Bullhead City Direct app, available for Android and iOS devices, to receive road closure notices and other timely project updates. The app serves as the public’s direct line to City Hall, providing updates and allowing residents to report issues for rapid resolution.
The City reminds the public to only flush human waste, toilet paper, and grey water down the drain. All other waste products should be disposed of by other means to prevent damage to the City’s infrastructure. Motorists are advised to exercise caution while traveling through City work zones and to obey posted signage and traffic control devices.
For questions about ongoing projects, please contact Assistant City Manager Edigar Kajirwa at 928-763-9400 ext. 8794 or ekajirwa@bullheadcityaz.gov.
