Bullhead City, AZ., August 23, 2022- Bullhead City offers many options for paying water and sewer bills, including sending payments in the mail through the U.S Postal Service, paying in person at City Hall, paying over the phone, dropping off payments at the City Hall drop box, or paying online. A quirk of the US Postal Service delivery system and the City’s mail-in payment processing system is creating timing problems for some customers. The City is eliminating the local PO Box to address the issue.

All outgoing mail from Bullhead City in the US Postal Service, first travels to Las Vegas to be sorted, even if that mail is addressed to a Bullhead City PO Box. Water or Sewer payments received at a Bullhead PO Box, must be forwarded to the city’s third-party processing center in Iowa to be processed. This back-and-forth travel through the mail system created unnecessary delays in payment processing.

The City’s new PO Box is strategically located right next to the payment processing center, allowing for mailed payments to be processed several days sooner. The City of Bullhead City takes customer service seriously, and this change will improve the customer experience. The city will attach a letter with detailed information regarding the PO Box change to customers’ water bills in the next cycle. The letter will also contain detailed information reminding customers of their many options for paying their utility bill.

Customers can mail their future utility payments to:

Bullhead City Utilities

Payment Processing Center

PO Box 37793

Boone, IA  50037

The City will also provide an automated voice response system for payments over the phone beginning in the next few months. The system will be accessible 24/7. More details will be released when the new feature becomes available.
