Life Jacket Exchange
The Bullhead City Fire Department is set to host a second life jacket exchange in conjunction with the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) and Eagle Motorsports on Saturday, July 31, 2021. This event will have two locations available for the exchange.
1.) BCFD Station #2 (1230 Hwy. 95)
2.) Eagle Motorsports 2106 Hwy. 95)
The exchange will run from 9-11 A.M.(or until supplies run out)
(Life jackets are for individual use only, please no watercraft business returns)
Boaters need to ensure that life jackets are in good condition and the right size and fit for passengers. When inspecting life jackets, look for any rips or tears, missing straps, broken fasteners to ensure that the flotation hasn’t shifted. Based on observations from AZGFD’s boating education program, life jackets should be inspected each boating season due to the environment’s impact on their materials.
Old, worn-out, and less effective Type III life jackets can be swapped for a new one during the exchange. Please note that Type I and Type II life jackets will not be accepted.
State law requires all children 12 years old and younger to wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket anytime while onboard; in addition, each passenger must have a properly fitting, U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket readily accessibility.
