On Tuesday, April 23rd, at about 2:00pm, Kingman Police arrested Ira Logan Fossum, 34 of Kingman, on a felony charge of Robbery and two misdemeanor warrants. Fossum was a suspect in a robbery that occurred on April 21st, at a store in the 500blk of W. Beale St. During that incident Fossum is alleged to have attempted to steal several packs of cigarettes. At one point a store clerk attempted to stop Fossum. Fossum forcibly pushed the clerk down to the ground before exiting the store and leaving in a vehicle. On Wednesday, at about 2:55pm, an officer observed Fossum to be a passenger in a vehicle in the area of the 2300blk of Fairgrounds Blvd. The vehicle was stopped and Fossum was taken into custody without incident. Fossum, who admitted involvement in the offense and had two misdemeanor warrants for his arrest on other unrelated charges, was arrested and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. The clerk was not seriously injured, but treated and released at the scene.
Note: Using force, or threatened use of force, during a theft turns the offense into a Robbery.
