KINGMAN, Ariz. – The City of Kingman Economic Development and Tourism Director Gary Kellogg will give a department report at tomorrow’s Kingman City Council meeting. Gary will share the City of Kingman Economic Development Department 2021 Annual Report, and information from the ASU W.P. Carey School of Business 2021 Survey, “Estimating the Purchasing Power of Pass-Through Traffic in the City of Kingman,” a Seidman Research Institute report that Mohave County District Office #1 commissioned in the spring of 2021.

Kingman City Manager Ron Foggin said, “We have had a number of questions regarding economic development and our efforts to attract new retail to our area. Studies like the one commissioned by Mohave County, give our city team members great information that help in our efforts to bring more retailers to the City of Kingman.”

Kingman Economic Development and Tourism Director Gary Kellogg said, “From 2017-2019, almost 50% of Walmart customers lived in a location at least 250 miles away from the store, which supports the idea that Kingman’s tourism economy is extremely important and generates a large portion of sales tax revenue that stays with the City of Kingman.”

Those wishing to address the council should fill out request forms in advance. Action taken as a result of public comments will be limited to directing staff to study the matter or rescheduling the matter for consideration and decision at a later time. Comments from the public will be restricted to items not on the agenda with the exception of those on the Consent Agenda. There will be no comments allowed that advertise for a particular person or group. Comments should be limited to no longer than 3 minutes.

This is a hybrid meeting with three opportunities for public participation:
