City Kicks Off Summer Park Season

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., May 10, 2024 –The City of Bullhead City is excited to announce the official start of the summer season Friday, May 10. Visitors who are not residents of Bullhead City will be required to pay $20 for parking at the park. For residents of Fort Mohave and Laughlin, the City offers a $50 season pass which can be purchased at City Hall. This pass, which requires a government-issued ID to verify residency, allows unlimited parking throughout the summer. Bullhead City residents continue to benefit from free parking and will need to provide a government-issued ID at the park entrance to verify residency.


As an added value, every purchased parking pass comes with a coupon book offering a free bag of ice and discounts on items from The River Shop, which will soon open its doors for the summer season. The Coupon book will also have deals from local businesses, including jet ski rentals.


As part of the summer season adjustments, the Bullhead Belle hours have been changed to 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Community Park’s hours remain unchanged, opening daily at 4:30 a.m. and closing at 11 p.m. The River Shop, situated in the lower level of the Bullhead Area Chamber of Commerce Building, will operate from Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.


The River Shop will be stocked with essential items, including ice, water, coolers, easy-ups, clothes, candy, inflatables, life jackets, sun protection, souvenirs, and more. Every bag of ice at The River Shop will come with a coupon for a free mangonada or a buy-one-get-one-free pizza at the Bullhead Belle.


Park rentals continue to be a popular feature of Bullhead’s summer season. Community Park ramadas can be reserved online at least three days in advance for $100 at Reservations less than three days in advance can be made in person at The River Shop. In addition to small ramada rentals, The Bullhead Belle’s lower deck and upper floor can be reserved for parties or large events. Those interested should contact the Bullhead Belle at 623-79-BELLE.


The City places a high priority on the safety of park-goers. Visitors are encouraged to take normal safety precautions when visiting the park. Lifeguards, part of the water rescue and safety team, will patrol the river starting Memorial weekend and continuing until the end of September. Visitors will see lifeguards from late morning till early evening every Friday through Sunday and on holidays. The City’s beach safety ambassadors will also be on the shoreline, looking for problems and notifying lifeguards. Visitors should also be aware of weather conditions, including water levels, wind speeds, lighting, rainstorms, flooding, and excessive heat.


The City also reminds the public that glass containers are strictly prohibited in City Parks. Glass bottles can break and shatter, making the beaches unsafe and unsightly for everyone. Beverages can be purchased in glass-free containers from The River Shop and the Bullhead Belle.
