City of Kingman to Illuminate Route 66 Drive-Thru Shield in Teal for Alzheimer’s Awareness
Kingman, AZ – The City of Kingman is proud to join the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s (AFA) annual Light the World in Teal campaign by illuminating the Route 66 Drive-Thru Shield in teal throughout the week of November 3, 2025, in recognition of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
The outer border of the iconic Route 66 Drive-Thru Shield, which features a series of color-changing LED lights, will shine brightly in teal to help raise awareness and support those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. The AFA’s national campaign encourages landmarks, buildings, and communities across the country to go teal as a visible symbol of unity and hope for the millions of families impacted by Alzheimer’s.
“Lighting the Drive-Thru Shield in teal allows our community to be part of a global effort to honor those facing Alzheimer’s and to promote continued education, understanding, and compassion,” said Kingman City Manager, Tim Walsh. “It’s a small but powerful way to show that Kingman stands with the families and caregivers affected by this disease.”
Residents are encouraged to visit the Route 66 Drive-Thru Shield during the week and share photos on social media using the hashtags #LightTheWorldInTeal and #KingmanAZ to help spread awareness and support for the cause.
