City-Wide Maintenance and Capital Improvement Projects Week of February 27

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., February 27, 2023 – City of Bullhead staff and contractors will be working on the following projects throughout our city during the week of February 27:

  • City Public Works staff will be slurry sealing the parking lot of the pickleball courts at Rotary Park along with various streets throughout the city. City staff will be sweeping streets and sealing cracks ahead of the slurry schedule. The complete slurry schedule is always available
  • Contractors continue work on the new amenities being added to the North end of Community Park. The entire project at the north end of Community Park is anticipated to be completed and opened for the public before the summer of 2023. 
  • A contractor on behalf of Bullhead City Utilities is drilling exploratory wells at multiple locations around the city. The contractor will be working this week just north and east of the Laughlin Bullhead International Airport runway. 
  • Public Works staff will be working to convert the Bullhead Belle into a permanent structure at Community Park during next few months. The City plans to open the Bullhead Belle as a riverside restaurant and event center May 2023. 
  • Crews will be installing curb and gutter along Marble Canyon from highway 95 to Miracle Mile. Please use caution while driving in the area. 
  • A contractor is rehabilitating the blower building at the section 10 wastewater treatment plant. The city anticipates the project to be completed by the end ofMarch
  • Contractors have completed the installation of a new sewer line extension on the north side of Marble Canyon Dr East of Miracle Mile. A cut in the pavement that crosses Marble Canyon Dr is scheduled to be repaved next week. 
  • A new playground at Ken Fovargue Park is now under construction. The city anticipates the completion of the new playground and fall zone surface during the month of March. 
  • Artificial turf is being installed around the existing splash pad at Ken Fovargue Park, in addition to other enhancements to the splash pad. The work will reduce ongoing maintenance costs for the splashpad, and enhance the user experience. 

The City reminds the public to please only flush human waste, toilet paper, and grey water down the drain. All other waste products should be disposed of through other means to avoid damage the city’s infrastructure. 

Please use caution while traveling through City work zones. Obey posted signage and traffic control devices.
