City-Wide Maintenance and Capital Improvement Projects Week of November 21

BULLHEAD CITY, AZ., November 18, 2022 – City of Bullhead staff and contractors will be working on the following projects throughout our city during the week of November 21:

  • The National Fitness Campaign Fitness Court at Rotary Park remains under construction. The concrete slab is now curing for the next few weeks before the next phase of construction can begin. A new sidewalk leading to the fitness court from the parking lot was poured this week. The city anticipates opening the Fitness Court in December.
  • City Public Works Crews are grading and landscaping at North Veterans Memorial around the Howitzer which arrived at the site shortly after the Veterans Parade. The project will continue for the next 3 weeks.
  • McCormick Construction will continue construction on a new parking lot at Gary Keith Park. The contractor began paving a new one-lane road around Gary Keith Park that ties into the upcoming parking lot this week. The parking lot paving project will be ongoing for several months.
  • Precise Builders, under contract with the city of Bullhead City will continue construction on the new restrooms at the North end of Community Park. This project is expected to be completed during the month of December.
  • City staff recently completed landscaping and road improvements around the new box culvert at community park, including installation of new solar powered lights along the walking path that crosses the box culvert. The solar light improvement is a test that could be expanded to other parks throughout the city if successful. The City will open the road and walking path over the box culvert next week.
  • Public Works staff are in the final stages of constructing a driver stand at the Rotary Park RC racetrack. The driver stand is expected to be completed in the next few weeks.
  • City Public Works staff will be slurry sealing Laughlin Ranch Blvd. This project will include complete lane closures and detours on Tuesday and Wednesday. Westbound traffic will be closed Tuesday, November 22 and Eastbound traffic will be closed Wednesday, November 23. There will be no slurry work on Thursday or Friday.   • City Public Works staff will be street sweeping ahead of the slurry schedule.
  • Bullhead City Utilities will be repairing a manhole on Meadows Dr beginning 12:01 a.m. Tuesday Morning, November 22.
  • City Public Works staff will be crack sealing pavement along Marina Blvd, and Alona’s Way.
  • Bullhead City Utilities crews will be conducting sewer cleaning along Warren Ct, Sunglow Dr, Campbell Rd, Sunridge Ct, Sunridge Rd, Florence Ave, Landon Dr, and Indian Hill Dr. Work from the previous week was rescheduled due to staff shortages. Sewer cleaning is a routine year-round maintenance project that keeps the wastewater system functioning optimally.

    The City reminds the public to please only flush human waste, toilet paper, and grey water down the drain. All other waste products should be disposed of through other means to avoid damage the city’s infrastructure.

    Please use caution while traveling through City work zones. Obey posted signage and traffic control devices.
