Commercial Structure Fire

At approximately 12:40 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021, a fire was reported by the staff of Black Bear Diner in the 1900 block of McCulloch Blvd. N. The employees
discovered a grease fire in the kitchen and attempted to discharge a fire extinguisher without success. The employees were able to evacuate the diner without incident. The
first arriving fire company reported a working fire with smoke coming from the roof area.

Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, one Medic Unit, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire in approximately 15 minutes.
All employees and patrons evacuated the diner safely. There were no reported injuries to the firefighters. CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the
firefighters. Crews remained on the scene an additional 2 hours, 30 minutes conducting salvage and overhaul operations.
