BULLHEAD CITY The Colorado River Union High School District (CRUHSD) is seeking businesses and individuals willing to underwrite the costs of ACT tests used for college admissions.

A federally-funded grant that previously covered ACT tests for all CRUHSD juniors was substantially reduced this year. As a result, there is a gap of more than $5,700 that does not cover at least 135 students.

The cost of the ACT is currently $42.50 per person.

There are 75 students at Mohave High School, 40 at River Valley High School and 20 at CRUHSD Academy whose ACT tests have not yet been covered by grants or other funding.

Those interested in donating to help the students may contact any of the three schools, or CRUHSD curriculum director Darolene Brown at 928-758-3961, x-1418. Donations may be tax-deductible, but that should always be confirmed with a tax adviser.
