County Gets 8,000 Moderna Vaccine Doses Next Week
County/Safeway Holds Lake Havasu City
Vaccine Event Wednesday
MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (March 14, 2021) – The County will be receiving 8,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine next week, a continuation of the amount of that vaccine received from the state for each of the past three weeks. ADHS informed counties that the Johnsons & Johnson supply chain is unstable and will be so for the next two weeks. As a result, the State did not receive an allocation of Johnson & Johnson vaccine for next week and therefore, the county will not receive an allocation. It is not expected to be resolved for at least two weeks. County Health Director Denise Burley says “we’re naturally disappointed that we will not receive additional Johnson and Johnson vaccine next week, but, we are looking forward to a resolution in the coming weeks.”
There’s some especially good news for those in the Lake Havasu City area. Next Wednesday, March 17, a special drive-thru vaccine event will take place. The County’s Moderna COVID vaccine event will be administered by local Safeway pharmacists at the north-side Fire Station in Lake Havasu City from 8:00am-4:00pm, Fire Station 2 is located at 2065 Kiowa Blvd, LHC, 86403. There will be 500 appointments available. All will be first dose shots only.
Appointments must be made. Here is the Link:

The Vaccine shot will only be administered to those who are currently eligible and make an appointment using the link above. Please make sure to bring both medical and prescription insurance cards, including your Medicare Part B card (red, white and blue card) if applicable. Again, this is a drive thru clinic. Follow the signs, remain in your vehicle, and you must wear a mask.
Meanwhile, this Wednesday’s Mohave County Health Department/Safeway 2nd dose event in Kingman went extremely well. There were 521 doses successfully administered and those individuals are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
