“Creatures, Real or Imagined”
“Creatures, Real or Imagined” the final KCA Art Gallery show of 2020 is now open at the ArtHub. “The art in this show ranges from the world we know to some fairly wild encounters with the imagination,” says KCA Gallery Director, John Van Vliet. “This theme gave our artists a chance to show off their most memorable encounters with other creatures, be they real or imagined and the results are pretty entertaining and, in some cases, revealing. While nobody is being recommended for psychiatric evaluation as a result of their art submissions, we did get some wild looking pieces that are definitely worth taking a look at, especially as we go into the Halloween season.”
Art displayed will include a piece from special guest artist Frank Thorne, an iconic American comic book artist-writer, best known for the Marvel Comics character Red Sonja. Besides paintings and illustrations, the “Creatures, Real or Imagined” features many 3D sculptures including a visual effects prop from the Disney ghost movie “The Sixth Man.” In addition, the show will run simultaneously with the ArtHub’s annual “6×6 on Route” fundraiser with 6×6 pieces of art selling for only $20 each.
“Creatures, Real or imagined” runs Sept 17 through Oct 24. The public is invited to the artists reception on Saturday, Sept 19 from 5-8pm. Light refreshments will be served.
The ArtHub supports not only the arts but every effort to keep our locals and city safe therefore the City of Kingman face covering and social distancing protocols will be followed.
Starting Sept. 17, ArtHub hours will be 11:00am to 6:00pm Tues-Sat at 402 E. Beale Street in downtown Kingman.
