CRWC Announces 2018-2019 Leadership Class

BULLHEAD CITY–The Colorado River Women’s Council Leadership Program held an orientation welcoming the new 2018-2019 class participants. The orientation took place on Sept. 11 and was hosted by the Aquarius Casino.

The 2018-2019 class members are Claire Adams, Carmen Bejarano, Andrea Burris, Lori Deschene, Karen De Shazer, Allyson Fair, Samantha Houts, Sharyn Link, Ambere McLean, Tara McMullen, Lois Rishel, Mary Slater, Deanna Survillas, Jessica Tary, Jennifer Ward and, Joan Zihurt.

The first day of class kicked off Sept. 12 at Mohave Community College. One of the founding members of the program, Olivia McCormick, facilitated a Team Building Day. The participants began initial discussions regarding their class project, with a final decision to be later this fall.

The nine-month program consists of an integrated series of sessions designed to build leadership skills and awareness of issues affecting our community. Participants learn how the Colorado River community governments and agencies operate, who makes them work and why. Together, the class votes on and completes a project that will benefit the community.
