BULLHEAD CITY – Due to a recurrence of a major issue with a sewer line at Desert Valley School on Marina, all classes will be cancelled again on Thursday, February 10.
Thursday was already scheduled as an early release day due to parent conferences. Conferences will be held virtually or by phone. Parents should look for communications from their child’s teacher regarding details of scheduled conferences. Thursday’s classes will be made up at a later date. There will be no Desert Valley buses running Thursday while the campus is closed.

Plumbers and technicians are continuing to work on the sewer line problem and clear a blockage, according to the Bullhead City School District. A maintenance team from ABM Industries, BCSD’s facilities and maintenance vendor, will be repairing the blockage before classes resume Monday. The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Colorado River on Highland Avenue will again be able to accommodate some Desert Valley students Thursday if parents do not have alternate arrangements.

The Boys and Girls Clubs will open at 7:30 a.m. The cost is only $10 per child for non-members. There is no charge for children who are already Club members. “The health and safety of our students and employees remain paramount,” said BCSD Superintendent Carolyn Stewart. “We appreciate the community’s continued understanding as the sewer line problem continues to be investigated and repaired. We will provide updates before classes resume when we receive additional information.”
