UPDATE (6/8/2020): DROWNING- LAKE HAVASU
On Saturday (6/6) the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating Safety responded to the area of Thompson Bay on Lake Havasu near London Bridge Beach in reference to a male subject that had went missing in the Lake. The male subject was located on the lake bottom and was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center in extremely critical condition. Later that evening (6/6) the male subject succumbed to his injuries and passed away. He has been identified as Torrian Jones, 21 of Las Vegas, NV. This investigation is ongoing.

On Saturday (6/6) the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating Safety responded to the area of Thompson Bay on Lake Havasu near London Bridge Beach in reference to a male subject that had went missing in the Lake. Upon arrival, several Boating Deputies and Divers with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office and the Lake Havasu City Police Department entered the water and began a search. Members of the Lake Havasu City Fire Department arrived on scene as well by land, and began searching in the water. A Firefighter with the Lake Havasu City Fire Department located the missing male on the lake bottom about 25 feet off shore and in about 7 feet of water. Fire Personnel along with MCSO Deputies and Lake Havasu City Police Officers pulled the male to shore and began CPR and life saving measures. The victim, a 21 year old male from Las Vegas, NV, was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center in extremely critical condition. Wind, waves, and swimming ability appear to be a factor, and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be involved. This incident is still under investigation.
