On August 28 at approximately 8:30 PM, deputies were patrolling the area of Camp Mohave Rd. and Highway 95. The deputy conducted a records check on a vehicle stopped at the red light after observing the license plate light was not operating. Deputies continued to observe the vehicle,
which turned onto Cam Ejercito and then accelerated at a high rate of speed, spraying rocks and dust into the air. The deputy continued to follow the vehicle, which eventually came to a stop at a residence in the 4500 block of Camino Viuda. As the deputy was approaching the vehicle, the driver and passenger both exited the vehicle. The deputy gave verbal commands for both occupants to get back inside the vehicle, to which they complied. A records check revealed his license to be suspended. Bellue was removed from the car and patted down for weapons, and deputies located a glass pipe in his pants pocket and he was detained. While being detained, deputies observed a baggie on the driver’s seat and Bellue admitted the baggie contained heroin. Another baggie containing heroin was located in Bellue’s back left pocket. Deputies began inventorying the vehicle to prepare it to be towed, when they located a bag containing a large amount of a white crystalline substance on the driver’s side floorboard.
Detectives with the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET) were called and responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. The substance was field tested and showed a presumptive positive for methamphetamine and weighed a total of 11.28 ounces.
