Dry Well Installation Taking Place Around City

KINGMAN, Ariz. – The City of Kingman is pleased to announce the ongoing water conservation efforts with the installation of ten dry wells around the city. These installations will take place in locations, where optimal conditions for water collection and conservation exist.

The cost of the installation is about $330,000 and Freiday Construction was awarded the contract. Work is scheduled to be completed on the dry wells by the end of January 2021.

The locations of the dry wells are:

  • Kingman Municipal Airport
  • Gordon Road and Easy Street
  • Yavapai St. and Duval Avenue
  • Central St. and Motherload Rd.
  • Central St. and Producers Mine Rd.
  • Two on Airway Ave.
  • Chinook Park
  • Monsoon Park
  • Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course

A dry well is an underground structure that disposes of unwanted water, most commonly surface runoff and stormwater and in some cases greywater. It is a covered, porous-walled chamber that allows water to slowly soak into the ground.
