Duplex Fire in Lake Havasu City

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 18, 2021, a neighbor reported a fire in the 3400 block of Kearsage Place. The neighbor discovered a fire on the front porch that had extended into the adjoining duplex. The occupants had exited the property and left the scene.

The first arriving fire company reported a working fire in one of the occupancy of a small, one-story duplex. Four Engine Companies, one Truck Company, and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control of the fire within 20 minutes. The occupants evacuated the house safely. There were two injuries to firefighters. The firefighters were treated for minor issues, transported to HRMC, and later released. CERT responded to the fire to assist with Rehab duties for the firefighters.

Crews remained on the scene an additional three hours conducting investigation and salvage operations. The exact cause of the fire is undetermined.
