Mohave Accelerated Learning Center has been cleaning up monthly with Make Bullhead Better for over a year now. This Earth day we went all out and got special shirts to highlight the importance to the youth in our community of saving the earth by cleaning our community and doing our part.

“The City is doing a fantastic job cleaning up dump sites and abandoned homeless encampments that are reported that there are times when I really have to search for accesible areas to clean up around Bullhead City.” -Grace Hecht (President of Make Bullhead Better)
We went out to a wash behind Canyon Trails a new community being built in Fox Creek. The majority of the items found were cardboard, empty cement backs, black paper from sidings of houses being built, plastic and debris caught in the wash.
We understand that a majority of these items weren’t intentionally discarded but were probably caught by the wind and ended up in the wash. Twenty MALC Key Club students spent two hours doing this desert clean this last Friday.
“Key Clubbers want to make an impact on the school and community with their service projects. We decided there was no better way to do something for our community and honor Earth Day other than by having a Desert Clean-Up! We are grateful for the partnerships we have with Make Bullhead Better and the City of Bullhead City. We accomplish so much more with all of these helping hands!” – Jessica Sessions MALC Key Club advisor
Partnering with the City of Bullhead City has been a huge help. They provide the bags, we fill them with trash and then send them the location on the side of the road to come pick them up and dispose of them.
“It’s an honor working with all the volunteers and engaging them in making our City better. You can definitely see the difference and the pride everyone takes in our community.” -Jeff Tipton (City of Bullhead City Human Services Director)
