Each Monday we will feature a local citizen who dedicates themselves in the education field within Mohave County. Whether they are teachers, bus drivers, crossing guards or lunch room attendants, The Bee will feature them in our special weekly section.
This week’s “Educator of the Week” is Kimberlina O’Hara, a Special Education teacher at Desert Star Academy in Fort Mohave.
O’Hara was nominated by Rona Philpott, who had this to say about her nominee:
“Kimberlina loves her ‘kids’ very much and is so good with them. She even has a few of them who have been with her since Mohave Valley Elementary (where she began her teaching career). She ‘lost’ one of her former students due to medical issues a few months ago, she was and still is, devastated by his passing. I know she loved him very much, as she does all of her kids. She has the patience of the best teacher ever.”
To nominate someone in this field, email us at csmith@thebee.news their name, what area in the education field they work, school or college name, contact number (if possible), photo and a short bio on the individual.
