Each Monday we will feature a local citizen who dedicates themselves in the education field within Mohave County. Whether they are teachers, bus drivers, crossing guards or lunch room attendants, The Bee will feature them in our special weekly section.
This week’s “Educator of the Week” is Jane Thurlow, a teacher at Coyote Canyon Elementary School in Bullhead City.
Thurlow was nominated by Kay Fernandez, who had this to say about her nominee:
“Since the beginning of the school year, my child has made a drastic, awesome improvement in his academics and coming out of his shell. My child is extremely shy and would shut down around others. My child made so much improvement that includes helping a presenter tell a story, went from 41 words a minute to over 100 words a minute for reading, and now has honor roll. She always have the best interests of the children at mind. She is the best teacher I had the pleasure of working with for my child. Unlike some previous teachers, she is always friendly and is welcoming to parents that are involved as much as we are. She is super energetic and brings a positive energy to any environment.”
To nominate someone in this field, email us at csmith@thebee.news their name, what area in the education field they work, school or college name, contact number (if possible), photo and a short bio on the individual.
