ERMA GONZALES
Erma (Rossi) Gonzales, 93, of Fort Mohave, Arizona, passed away at home on December 6, 2018. She was born on March 9, 1925 to the late Louis and Teresa Rossi, Swiss-Italian immigrants, in Paso Robles, California. She married Louis Albert Gonzales in 1949, and they lived in San Jose, while raising 3 children. In 1985, they moved to the Gonzales Ranch in Gilroy, California. In 1998, she and Louis relocated to Fort Mohave, Az to retire.
Erma’s parents immigrated to California from Switzerland in the early 1900s. She attended schools in Paso Robles, Ca; graduated in 1943 from Notre Dame High School, San Jose; and from St. Mary’s College of Nursing, San Francisco in 1946 where she obtained a bachelor of nursing degree. She worked for many years as an RN at O’Connor, San Jose and Alexian Brothers Hospitals in San Jose, Ca, in labor and delivery and the newborn nursery, and also for several OB/GYN doctors.
She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Bullhead City, Az.
Erma was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Barker and Evelyn Uibelhoer, and her brother, Elmer Rossi.
Erma is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Louis (Bud); her sons, Ronald Gonzales, of Stevens Point, WI; Richard (Kelli) Gonzales, of Paso Robles, CA; and her daughter, Dona (Barry) Naysnerski, of Longmont, CO; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
There will be no funeral services, but Masses in her name are requested at your local parish. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Catholic Charities. Cremation has been entrusted to Desert Lawn Mortuary, Fort Mohave, AZ. A private interment will be in Paso Robles, CA.
