Excessive Heat Warning

Bullhead City (Ariz.) – June 14, 2021 – The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for Bullhead City and surrounding areas today through Saturday. The desert heat can be very dangerous. Please stay out of the sun and drink plenty of water, even if you’re not thirsty to stay hydrated. Avoid outdoor activities, or limit them for the early morning or evening hours. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear light, loose fitting clothing. Take the time to check on loved ones, elderly neighbors and pay extra attention to children and pets during this excessive heat warning.

The Suddenlink Community Center, 2380 Suddenlink Way in Bullhead City, will be open as a cooling center for people wanting to escape the heat this week.

Suddenlink Community Center Hours: 

Tuesday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Friday & Saturday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Sunday: 3:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The Bullhead City Senior Center, 2285 Trane Road, is open with extra water available from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Homeless Shelter, 1594 N. Oatman Road, is also open from 12 noon – 6 p.m.

The Bullhead City municipal pool, 2255 Trane Road, is open for lap swim, open swim, water aerobics all free of charge this week. Call (928) 763-0159 for more information. The City of Bullhead City also has a plan in place in the event of an extended power outage for a cooling station to be available to citizens.
