Fatal Crash on SR168

This afternoon NHP responded to a fatal traffic crash on SR168 and Mile Marker 11 in Clark County. A 1995 Lexus sedan was westbound on SR168 when for unknown reasons the vehicle left the roadway and entered the right shoulder.  The driver over corrected and entered back on to SR168, crossed the eastbound travel lanes and left the roadway.

The vehicle came to rest off the roadway in a ravine on the eastbound side of SR168.  Both the driver and passenger were pronounced deceased on scene.  The 19 year old driver and 29 year old passenger were unrestrained and investigators believe impairment is a factor in this crash.  Both victims are California residents.  The time of crash is unknown as it was reported by a passerby after the crash had already occurred.
