The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation into a fatal vehicle collision that occurred on Saturday (1/22) at milepost 14 on Stockton Hill Rd. Deputies responded to a call of a single vehicle crash, where a male and female occupant had been ejected from the vehicle. The deceased male subject involved in this incident has been identified as Lonny Paul Morgan, 53 of Kingman.

The female subject, identified as Carmelita Lopez, was flown to a Las Vegas hospital and remains in stable condition. The investigation revealed that speed and inattention were contributing factors in this incident.


On Saturday (1/22) at 3:22 PM, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center was contacted reference a single vehicle collision that had just occurred at milepost 14 on Stockton Hill Road. Upon deputies arrival, they observed a single vehicle with extensive damage and found that two subjects, one female and one male, had been ejected from the vehicle.

The male subject, whose name is being withheld pending next of kin notification, was deceased on scene. The female, identified as Carmelita Lopez, 44 of Kingman, was responsive and later flown to University Medical Center in Las Vegas suffering from numerous injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
