Fire at Shogun Japanese Restaurant

At approximately 5:39 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021, a large fire was reported in a storage area outside of Shoguns Japanese restaurant in close proximity to the structure. A commercial assignment was dispatched consisting of four Engines and a Battalion Chief. Restaurant employees and LHC Police Department were able to knock down the fire using garden hoses and ABC extinguishers prior to Fire Department arrival. The first arriving
fire company reported light smoke and smoldering spot fires.

They were able to control the fire and cancel the balance of the assignment within minutes. A second engine assisted with overhaul and verified there was no extension into the building. A new Mercedes SUV parked in the area sustained significant damage from the radiant heat. There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. For further information, contact the on duty Battalion Chief at (928) 486-3507 or Terrie Haas, Fire Administration, at (928) 854-0758 for further information.
