BULLHEAD CITY—A homeowner and two dogs escaped a fire unscathed Wednesday afternoon.

Bullhead City Fire spokeswoman Lori Viles said crews were dispatched to a home in the 2100 block of Bermuda Drive and arrived to find smoke coming from the rear of the residence.

The occupant of the home was attempting to extinguish the fire with a garden hose, said Viles.

The fire attack was focused on a bedroom where a burning mattress was found.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. Red Cross was contacted to assist the occupants and their two small dogs.

No injuries were reported and all units were cleared from the scene.
