KINGMAN, AZ (June 16, 2020) — There was a small fire just south of Kingman and east of I-40 today that could have grown into something much bigger.  Arizona Department of Forestry Battalion Chief Mike Laing said fire units from the Arizona Department of Forestry and the Bureau of Land Management put the blaze out quickly.  It was 100% contained after consuming about 1.7 acres.

Mohave County Emergency Coordinator Mike Browning adds that area residents should be reminded that June is the fire season’s worst month of all and now is a perfect red flag period for dangerous fire conditions and everyone should be extra cautious with open flames and fire restrictions in place.
